Not white, but silver….
Walking home in the pale light
Of a Christmas moon.

Circadian Rhythm

Night sinks in the west
The moon’s kohl-rimmed eye closes
For a long day’s sleep.

First Frost

In the full moon’s light
Sparkling circles in the grass
Frost-fringed clover leaves.

Apogee

A vast silver pearl
Accented with diamond stars
Moon at apogee.

Cold Night

Pallid winter moon
Rises from the snowy hills
Silver shadows fall.

Saturnalia

Eclipse-reddened moon
The solstice’s bloodshot eye
Closes the old year.

The winter solstice of 2010 was marked by a full lunar eclipse; if you haven’t seen one, the moon doesn’t disappear, it turns red!

Dawn

Cold autumn morning
An eyelash of silver moon
Blinking back the day.

Sky

Early fall evening
A narrow airplane contrail
Punctuates the moon.
