A black and yellow spider
Poised on strands of silk.

Summer Rain

Early morning rain
Bejeweling the spider webs
With crystalline pearls.


Breezy April day
Spiderlings sail by like kites
Trailing silken strings.

A black five-legged spider
Someone’s fallen glove.


Night takes off her jewels
Bequeaths her bright pearls to dawn
Strung on spider silk.
