Rainy winter day
Geese stand like statues of geese
On the sodden lawn.

Summer, like a bride,
Flings a bouquet as she goes
Flowers fill the fields.

Rain Delay

A sudden downpour
An abandoned croquet game
Sprawls across the lawn.

Scent of new-mown grass
A sweet haze over the park
After the spring rain.

Robins wade breast-deep
Through an emerald sea of lawns
Bright April morning.

Rite of Spring

Two white butterflies
Meeting over the meadow
Whirl into a dance.

The Gleaners

Damp-feathered sparrows
Forage in the dewy grass
Misty March morning.
