Dawn

Cold autumn morning
An eyelash of silver moon
Blinking back the day.

The personification you use is extremely effective. I really love your metaphor comparing the crescent moon to an eyelash blinking. A lovely image as usual.

Whew “Eyelash” I have been looking at the moon for many many years, and even this wanning moon the other night and never saw an eyelash until now… Amazing!
