Farewell till autumn.

Each day from fall to winter
One hundred haiku.

The sound of chirping crickets
Creeps into the hearth.

The recipe book dusted
With last year’s flour.

Gray wings shade into gray clouds
Fading like the fall.

Rising from the lake at dawn
The water exhales.

Shadows standing on the porch
Wait to be let in.
