Sixty-two hundred and five Syllables a year.

Archive for Stones

Anniversary II

Like an amber trove…
Fragments of the past two years
Preserved in haiku.

Ancient tree’s relic
Frozen sunlight, captive fire,
Brighter than diamond.

Pomegranate III

One unripe white seed
In the pomegranate’s trove
Quartz among garnets.

Teeth of a cascade
Comb the mountain’s long dark hair
Rippling waterfall.

For R.W.

Seven oval stones
One untucks its beak and blinks
How many plovers?

Rocky autumn beach
Pebbles rattle with each wave
The sea greets the sea.
