Songbird

Scarlet cardinal
The bright heart of a bare tree
Throbbing with a song.

I always look forward to hearing the first cardinal begin to sing again when winter is coming to an end. Their song is beautiful, it’s just a shame they usually stay so high in trees. 🙂
