Camouflaged insect
Overlooked until it moves…
A stick spreads its wings.

A Praying Mantis

When I was young, there were two “laws” that nobody thought of breaking. For one you couldn’t pick lady slippers. The second, it was forbidden to kill a praying mantis. It was said that each offense carried a $50 fine. I don’t know of anyone who did either. To this day, I get a rush from seeing a lady slipper or a praying mantis.
