Sixty-two hundred and five Syllables a year.

Seaside

Slates of sea and sky
Hinge on a rose horizon
The first winter dawn.

You have a wonderful way of expressing images in such imaginative ways. What a lovely way of shifting when you use “slates” and then “rose.”

Thank you! I saw this horizon with the two friends I dedicated the poem to on a very special day, the image stuck with me so intensely. (They both like the poem, happily!)
