À la recherche du temps perdu

Shadows of pigeons
Over a red-tiled roof…
Roman memories.

Hermit Thrush II

Tremor in the brush -
Bright black eye and dappled breast -
Flicking tail – and gone!

Out of Season III

Warm November day
Fools one last swarm of midges
Into the pale sky.

Perspective IV

The first day outside
After a week sick in bed -
How sweet the cold rain!

Willows II

Willows mourn the fall
Weeping tear-shaped golden leaves
Into the dark stream.

Tricolor

Purple, pink and white
Mixed morning glory bouquet
On a single vine.

Wild Geese III

Cloudless autumn sky
Chevrons of migrating geese
Tattoo the sky’s cheek.

Ivy League

Red collegiate brick
Clad in rippling red ivy
Studies in scarlet.

Sunset

Vast tropical fish…
Scarlet-bottomed purple clouds
Swim through the sunset.

Veteran’s Day II

Names carved into walls
Crosses in foreign graveyards
Freedom isn’t free.
